Stadlober finishes 14th – Diggins celebrates

Teresa Stadlober finished the cross-country World Cup season in Falun on Sunday with 14th place in the mass start over 20 km skating. The 31-year-old from Salzburg finished 32.2 seconds behind the victorious Jessie Diggins

The US-American triumphed in the final sprint ahead of the Norwegians Heidi Weng and Anne Kjersti Kalvaa. Diggins also secured the overall World Cup for the second time since 2021 with a dominant performance in Sweden.

The 32-year-old secured the big crystal globe by winning two bonus rankings during the race. Stadlober finished fourth three times in the past World Cup season - in the skiathlon in Trondheim in December, in the 50 km classic at Holmenkollen and in the 10 km classic in Falun on Saturday. The 2022 Olympic bronze medallist finished the World Cup in twelfth place overall. The last time she finished better was tenth in 2019/20.
