“Totally windy!” Women’s ski flying canceled
The women's Ski Flying World Cup premiere in Vikersund was canceled on Saturday. Wind, snow and rain left the jury with no other choice after a half-hour postponement. It is currently being considered that the women will even compete in two events on Sunday.
World Cup title holder Eva Pinkelnig supported the cancellation. "The conditions are totally windy. They are starting to tie things up here in the outrun. It's not possible to do a Ski Flying World Cup today, so we'll pack up and regenerate well."
Pinkelnig hopes that the men will still be able to fly in the afternoon and that they can "learn a little something". She would have nothing against two competitions on Sunday. "Of course we would all like that. Everyone is in favor of having two World Cups."
