Kids stormed the fair
These stars also caused a stir in Ried
Over 3700 kids came to the start of the Ried Sports Fair on Friday. Innovations such as a ninja course and star guests including skiing ace Daniel Hemetsberger and table tennis world champion Werner Schlager ensured a perfect start. Adults also get their money's worth on Saturday and Sunday.
"That's cool, almost like on TV," Magdalena (11) and many other children were delighted with the new highlights at the Rieder Sportmesse presented by "Krone", which opened its doors on Friday and caused a stir with a Ninja Warrior-style course, among other things. "We were literally overrun," said Ninja Park Managing Director Jürgen Camus.
No wonder, after all, thousands of children came to the exhibition hall yesterday with free admission. "We had over 3700 registered schoolchildren from all over Upper Austria," emphasized Exhibition Director Helmut Slezak. He added: "We simply want to get the children involved in sport and make sure they have fun."
Great concept
At the sports fair, this can be done without any pressure and once again showed how important such concepts are to counteract the increasing lack of exercise. With the "Sparkasse OÖ Challenge", the kids were even able to win prizes for the whole class yesterday without having to deliver top performances.
Up close and personal with stars
"It's great that you can try out so many different sports. There are also some that I didn't even know," says seven-year-old Johannes from Steyr-Land, who was also able to get up close and personal with real sports stars such as ski star Daniel Hemetsberger and table tennis world champion Werner Schlager. "I am an advocate of children coming into contact with sport as soon and as much as possible," says Hemetsberger.
On Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., adults can also really let off steam.
