“Scoundrel”: Griezmann insults Inter striker
Atlético Madrid won a penalty shoot-out against Inter Milan on Wednesday to advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League - partly because Alexis Sánchez missed his attempt. Atlético's Antoine Griezmann commented on the miss with a "shout", as videos on social media show.
For a long time, it had looked like Milan would advance, with Federico Dimarco scoring in the 33rd minute to make it 1-0 and Simone Inzaghi's side would have easily progressed to the quarter-finals with a 2-0 aggregate score. However, the home side responded promptly, with Griezmann equalizing just two minutes later and Memphis Depay saving the Madrilenians from extra time in the 87th minute.
Sanchez fails to score against Oblak
After no further goals were scored, the game had to be decided in a penalty shoot-out. Sanchez stepped up to the spot as the second scorer for the "Nerazzurri", but was denied by Jan Oblak.
TV footage and videos currently circulating online show Griezmann, who has already been substituted, commenting on the action with amusement, although he insults the Chilean. "Shite! He's a shithead, the Chilean! Scumbag!" said the 32-year-old to his team-mate Rodrigo de Paul. A good winner looks different ...
