Tragedy! Another traditional business goes bankrupt with Werfener Hutmacher

It's a tragedy! Werfen's hat maker Zapf has been lovingly producing hats by hand since 1893. Most recently, the company specialized in club hats. From shooting clubs to brass bands: the Pongau-based company received orders from all over Austria. People close to the traditional company also reported that the order books were well filled. Now, however, Hutmacher Zapf GmbH has filed for bankruptcy

According to Kreditschutzverband 1870, there are 20 creditors and the debts amount to 1.1 million euros. It is unclear what the future holds for the twelve employees in the stores in Werfen and the city of Salzburg.

Until a few years ago, business was said to have been going very well. Insiders report that the owner's interest in the millinery waned with the untimely death of former managing director Ms. Bartolot around three years ago.
