Fuss about posting about canceled Rapid penalties
What was going on there? Many fans were surprised by a curious post on the Bundesliga's official Instagram account on Wednesday evening, according to which the penalties against Rapid had been "subsequently rescinded". There was also talk of an "apology to Oaschlechan". The post was deleted a few minutes later.
The Bundesliga was probably the victim of an unwanted visitor.
In an obviously confusing statement, the Bundesliga said: "The Permanent Neutral Court of Arbitration has subsequently annulled all penalties against SK Rapid. The members of Senate 1 are also required to take part in a workshop on the subject of proportionality."
"Apology to Oaschlechan", "disastrous picture"
In addition, the members of Senate 1 are required to take part in a "workshop on the topic of proportionality". And: "The Austrian Bundesliga apologizes to all parties involved, as well as to 'Oaschlechan' and in general to every Austrian soccer fan for the disastrous image presented in recent weeks."
The lack of correct commas and a few spelling mistakes show that there was no truth in this post.
Who or what is behind it is not yet known. It is reasonable to assume that someone responsible for the Bundesliga's social media account expressed their displeasure at the sanctions against Rapid in this way or that the Bundesliga was even the victim of a hacker attack.
