Schoolboy (13) completely severed his finger

On Friday afternoon, a serious accident occurred in Eben im Pongau (Salzburg). A schoolboy (13) completely severed the ring finger of his right hand after he tried to "high-five" a traffic sign with the flat of his hand.

The 13-year-old jumped up at a highway service station to touch the traffic sign. In doing so, he caught his ring on a metal rail and the serious accident occurred, the police reported.

To hospital by helicopter
After receiving first aid from the Red Cross and an emergency doctor, the teenager was flown to Salzburg Regional Hospital by rescue helicopter. The pupil was part of an Italian school class that was on its way home from an excursion. The accompanying teachers informed the parents.
