1:1 against Liefering
Bregenz give away victory against Jungbullen
The second division match between Bregenz and Liefering could not necessarily be described as overly exciting. However, at least in the final phase the spectators were treated to something worth seeing - the final score was 1:1.
After their recent 3-1 win at KSV, Bregenz were looking for another successful result against Liefering. But they had to tame the young bulls in the early stages. They exerted a lot of pressure in the first half hour. But without really becoming dangerous. Not even from a creative corner kick, when three Bulls stepped over the ball and the fourth took a shot from the edge of the box (12'). SW goalkeeper Franco Flückiger easily plucked away the weak shot.
However, the hosts' own attacking efforts, who were hoping for more attacking accents with Benjamin Dibrani in central midfield, were still modest in the first half. Markus Mader's team did not score until the break. However, Liefering did not fare much better. Six corner kicks, but only one shot on goal - the one already mentioned after the corner kick variation.
After 45 minutes, referee Bosnjak blew the whistle to end an uneventful first half, with no stoppage time needed.
Crescenti against his Bulls
The second half continued quietly for the time being. That was until substitute Federico Crescenti was wide awake after a misplaced back pass from Salzburg's central defense and tapped in to make it 1:0 for the home side. But that was not enough against his home team in the end.
Shortly before the end, Bregenz were unable to clear a long ball into the penalty area and Luka Reischl scored to make it 1:1. Which was not undeserved for the visitors. In any case, the team from Mozartstadt clearly won the corner count 14:1.
