Sailing - 470 class

Medal race canceled – Vadlau/Mähr World Championship 10th.

Due to strong winds and high waves, no medal race was possible on Sunday at the Sailing World Championships in the Olympic 470 class off Palma de Mallorca, leaving Lara Vadlau/Lukas Mähr in 10th place! 

The title went to the Spaniards Jordi Xammar/Nora Brugman. The Austrians' next regatta is the Trofeo Princesa Sofia at the same venue at the beginning of April, so they will remain in Spain for training.

"On the whole, not satisfied with performance!"
"All in all, it was a very difficult week for us: we weren't able to do a few things well, a few others better. On the whole, we are not satisfied with our performance," said helmswoman Vadlau.

Sports Director Matthias Schmid was also of the opinion that the placing did not "reflect the level". They are taking a few "homework exercises" from this world championship.
