Key player missing for FC Bayern in Freiburg

FC Bayern will probably have to do without Leroy Sané in the away game against SC Freiburg. The winger is still suffering from pain in his patella tendon, according to the German newspaper "Bild".

On Thursday, coach Thomas Tuchel had left open the possibility of the 28-year-old playing, but the club has now decided to rest Sané, according to the newspaper.

Too dogged
"He always wants to play. Leroy is someone who can tolerate pain incredibly well for himself! I just think he was determined to prove something, that he gritted his teeth a little too much," Tuchel is convinced. 

After last week's 2:1 nail-biting win against RB Leipzig, FC Bayern will be looking to add another three points on Friday. The gap to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga is a whopping eight points, and if the German record champions do not want to give up the title completely, a win against the Breisgau side is a must.
