“Highly talented!” Rapid extends with youngster

Rapid set the course for the future! Youngster Furkan Dursun extends his contract early by three more years until summer 2027.

The 18-year-old Dursun has been part of head coach Robert Klauß' first-team training squad since the winter preparations. 

"Furki is another talented young player who comes from our youth academy and has shown exemplary development year after year. We have a clear roadmap for his future, are firmly convinced that we can offer him the best opportunities in the long term and are delighted to continue on our path with another highly talented home-grown player," said sporting director Markus Katzer. 

Top performer in the second team
The talented attacking player moved to Hütteldorf from the Vienna youth team and has worn the green and white jersey since the U10s. In the fall, Dursun was one of the key players in the second team, which is currently top of the Regionalliga Ost table. The trained center forward played a total of 13 games for Rapid II this year, scoring four goals. His CV also includes 23 appearances for various red-white-red national youth teams. In the winter training camp, the 18-year-old also made an appearance for the first team in a preparation match against Hungarian second division side Szeged 2011 FC.
