A sigh of relief in the Vatican: Pope Francis has been discharged from the Gemelli Clinic in Rome "fully fit for duty" following examinations and is once again holding audiences as planned.
The 87-year-old Francis had to undergo several examinations on Wednesday, including a computer tomography scan. Francis was last briefly hospitalized for an examination in November. At the time, he had partial pneumonia, which was treated with antibiotics. Since then, he has repeatedly suffered from respiratory problems. He also usually moves around in a wheelchair due to knee problems.
