Horner stays, but ...
Schumacher: Red Bull? “A lot has gone wrong”
It has been clear since Wednesday: Christian Horner will remain team principal at Red Bull. For former racing driver Ralf Schumacher, however, it remains "exciting": "A lot has gone wrong. You have to fix that first."
Christian Horner remains team principal of the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team. A complaint against the 50-year-old Englishman, who is alleged to have behaved inappropriately towards a female employee, was dismissed on Wednesday following the conclusion of an internal investigation by an independent lawyer.
Did they want to get rid of Horner?
"The problem here is that you almost had the impression that some people internally were interested in getting rid of Horner," says Formula 1 expert Ralf Schumacher on Sky. "There has been quite a lot of fighting and now the question is whether this is really the case and whether he will succeed in maintaining his position and whether he has the support of the whole team."
Crucial test
The Horner affair is now threatening to become a crucial test for the entire Red Bull Group. While the Thai shareholders are backing Horner as team principal, the Austrian wing of the group is clearly of the opinion that the 50-year-old is no longer tenable in his position.
