Farmer fell into a running chainsaw

Another serious work accident occurred in a forest in Upper Austria on Friday. A 47-year-old woman slipped during woodwork and fell into the running chainsaw. She was able to call for help herself.

The 47-year-old from Munderfing was doing woodwork on his own property in Kobernaußerwald on Friday. At around 2.30 p.m., the farmer suddenly slipped in the rough terrain and fell. The running chainsaw caught the woman's left forearm.

Husband provided first aid
The injured woman was able to call her husband for help, who immediately administered first aid, set the rescue chain in motion and took his wife to a nearby inn on the tractor. The woman was then flown by the rescue helicopter "Europa 3" to the accident hospital in Salzburg.
