Lamparter third at Holmenkollen ++ Hirner second

The Nordic Combined World Cup competitions at Holmenkollen in Oslo brought two podium finishes for Austria on Saturday!

Johannes Lamparter finished third in the men's competition behind the German winner Vinzenz Geiger and local hero Jarl Magnus Riiber and just ahead of Franz-Josef Rehrl. In the women's event, Lisa Hirner came second behind the Norwegian double world champion Gyda Westvold Hansen.

Lamparter was 7.3 seconds off first place

Hirner, who missed out on victory by 53 seconds, was beaming after her successful debut on the large hill. "It was really cool, I put down a really good jump," said the two-time World Championship bronze medalist from Trondheim. She had finished third in the jumping competition with 123 meters. "This placement is very positive for my self-confidence," emphasized the Styrian.

The second best Austrian was Annalena Slamik in eleventh place, Claudia Purker finished in 15th place. Stefan Rettenegger finished 15th in the men's event, Fabio Obermeyr came 19th. The women's and men's events continue on Sunday with a compact competition, which is the last competition of the season for the women. The overall World Cup victory was already secured on Saturday by 19-year-old German Nathalie Armbruster.
