Diego Simeone was unstoppable at the press conference after the CL exit and raged in the direction of the journalists: "Come on! Who's going to raise their hand who saw it? No one?" Specifically, the Atlético coach was upset about Julian Alvarez's curious penalty.

Atlético Madrid were eliminated in a dramatic penalty shoot-out against Real Madrid: At the center of it all was a double touch by Julian Alvarez, who had apparently touched the ball not only with his kicking leg but also with his standing leg, which is why his goal from the spot did not count.

Atlético coach Diego Simeone flew into a rage at the subsequent press conference. "What did you see?" Simeone asked the journalists after the game: "Raise your hands if you think Julian touched him twice." He repeatedly asked the reporters to vote. Nobody in the already sparsely populated press room raised their hands - but presumably nobody wanted to argue with the angry coach.

Real thus won their sixth knockout tie with Atletico in the Champions Cup and Champions League. The Whites had already prevailed against their city rivals on penalties in the 2016 final. The Spanish champions will now face Arsenal in the quarter-finals.
