Fire alarm on Tuesday evening in Landeck, Tyrol: A fire broke out in the garage of an apartment building for unknown reasons. A neighbor - equipped with a garden hose and fire extinguishers - began to fight the fire. He and the alerted fire department were able to prevent worse.

The fire broke out in the garage at around 8.30 pm. "When the police patrol arrived, a neighbor, a 43-year-old Austrian, was already busy extinguishing the fire with a garden hose and several fire extinguishers," said the investigators.

The Landeck fire department was finally able to quickly bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to the neighboring house. 

Suddenly the power went out
According to the police, a 66-year-old local man living in the house noticed a power cut at around 8.30 p.m. and noticed a heavy smoke development during a check.

75 emergency services on site
The man was taken to Zams Hospital by ambulance for medical clarification. The cause of the fire is still unclear and is the subject of further investigations. A total of around 75 firefighters were deployed.
