Body in the garden: Mystery over cause of death continues

The horrific discovery caused a shudder: A good three and a half weeks ago, a badly decomposed, partially skeletonized corpse was discovered in a garden in Hall in Tyrol. While the identity could only be clarified by means of DNA comparison, it is still unclear how the man died. The possibility of third-party negligence is still not ruled out.

The cause of death could no longer be determined at the time due to the condition of the body and the forensic investigation was therefore concluded, said chief investigator Philipp Rapold from the Tyrolean Criminal Police Office to APA on Wednesday. However, investigations are continuing in all directions.

A possible external cause - i.e. murder - is therefore still a possibility. The rumor mill is churning. However, Rapold did not want to provide any further information on the status of the investigation or any suspects for tactical reasons.

Only DNA comparison solved the identity mystery
After the remains were found on January 20, the identity was initially unclear. Only a DNA comparison was able to solve at least this mystery. The deceased was a 30-year-old man from Innsbruck. The man had been missing since September 5 of the previous year.

The resident of the property in question had discovered the body in an area of the garden that was difficult to access and see when he was looking for his cat.
