Organizer cancels shows at Schönbrunn Palace

The promoter Show Factory has canceled all concerts and musicals planned for 2025 at Schönbrunn Palace. The reason given was "unenforceable legal noise protection requirements". This affects the Fendrich musical "I Am From Austria", for example.

This would have been performed on July 3 and 4. The "Schönbrunn Classics" series has also been canceled. "Due to the current legal and licensing situation for open-air events in the courtyard of Schönbrunn Palace and penalties already imposed for noise violations for all past open-air shows, the organizer Show Factory has canceled all shows planned there for 2025 without replacement," it says in a press release.

Anyone who has already purchased a ticket can now return it to the advance booking office - the one where it was purchased.

Solution for 2026?
Factory Managing Director Dieter Semmelmann said that the restrictions would make it impossible to "seriously offer events of the (....) required quality to the audience and artists". He hopes for talks and a good solution for the future so that concerts and musicals can be held at Schönbrunn again from 2026.

The Schönbrunn Palace Group regretted the cancellation on Friday afternoon. Over the past four years, more than 150,000 people have attended the events.

Complaints are piling up
There have been repeated noise complaints in the federal capital recently, for example at the Arena Wien and the Metastadt event venue. The closing time there is to be brought forward from 11 pm to 10 pm.
