Seriously injured with chainsaw

A gruesome accident occurred on Tuesday in Tschagguns. An 8-year-old man fell under a tree trunk while cutting wood and was seriously injured. 

An 80-year-old man from Tschagguns in Montafon will not forget last Tuesday for a long time. The landowner was busy felling trees at lunchtime. When one of the trees finally fell, the man was caught by the trunk and trapped under the structure. Unfortunately, the chainsaw with which the 80-year-old had been working was still running and seriously injured the man's upper left arm.

The senior citizen was unable to free himself from his predicament, but eventually managed to call the emergency services on his cell phone. After the fire department arrived on the scene, the seriously injured man was rescued from under the tree. While still in the forest, the man was first treated by the emergency doctor who had arrived. The senior was then taken by emergency helicopter to Feldkirch Regional Hospital.
