Chocolate bar prepared with a needle

In Rehden in Lower Saxony, children escaped a catastrophe. As they do every year, they went from house to house on Halloween to collect sweets. But one of the chocolate bars had been prepared with a needle. The police are investigating attempted grievous bodily harm.  

One of the chocolate bars collected in the neighborhood on Thursday seemed strange to the attentive children, which is why they subjected it to a closer "inspection". Luckily - because there was a needle hidden inside!

They had met up with their parents and teachers at school on the Friday after Halloween to go through the sweets. When they took a closer look at one of the sweets, the needle was revealed.

According to the police, swallowing the foreign object could have resulted in "serious internal injuries". Parents are now urged to check all sweets before eating them.

"Not a joke, but a criminal offense!"
 A police spokesperson warned Bild: "This is not a bad joke, but a serious criminal offense!"

The police are now looking for the person who put the dangerous chocolate bar into circulation and are investigating attempted grievous bodily harm. So far, no other prepared bars have been found.
