Hunter threatened children in Hamburg with rifle

A hunter threatened several children with his rifle in Hamburg on Thursday evening. The disguised schoolchildren had rung his doorbell on Halloween evening and shouted "trick or treat" (see video above) ...

But the man in the Wilhelmsburg district didn't give the children any sweets, instead he got his gun. As "Bild" reported on Friday morning, the frightened children then retreated and informed the police. They also arrived immediately.

The officers took the long gun, which was not ready to fire, from the man and searched his house. They discovered at least three other firearms and ammunition, which they seized. The neighbor, who claimed to be a hunter, was arrested.

There were no riots
Meanwhile, there were no feared Halloween riots in the German city. The police reported several firecrackers. They spoke to those affected and issued bans on entering and staying in the city. The previous year, more than 300 mainly young people had gathered and thrown firecrackers at the police.
