Italy legend thinking about a comeback at 48!

Italian soccer legend Francesco Totti is apparently considering a return to professional soccer. The 48-year-old played for AS Roma for 24 years and announced his retirement in 2017. An offer from Serie A is now causing Totti to ponder.

This headline is making waves in Italy: Is Francesco Totti returning to the soccer stage at the age of 48? "Several Serie A teams have asked me," Totti is quoted as saying in the "Gazzetta dello Sport". "I admit that this has made me think a little. A bit crazy. It wouldn't be easy, of course, but in life you should never say 'never'."

Specifically, promoted Como 1907 are said to be interested in Totti. The former striker is said to have received an offer until the end of the season.

Will Totti be Braunöder's team-mate?
Totti ended his career in 2017 after 24 years at AS Roma. Should the 2006 world champion actually return to the pitch, he would not only play under coach Cesc Fàbregas at Como, but would also play alongside Austrian international Matthias Braunöder.

On the sidelines of a padel tournament in Miami, Totti explained that the rumors were "no joke". But: "I've always said I need a few months to be ready. I'm thinking about it. Let's see how my body reacts, because the mind already knows the answer. We'll see what next year brings us."
