Without a license: Taxi driver (61) stopped while high on drugs

In the course of an ordinary vehicle check, a 61-year-old cab driver in Vienna was charged with several criminal offenses. He allegedly had neither a driver's license nor a cab driver's license and was also under the influence of drugs and severely overtired.

During a patrol check of a cab driver by the Vienna police, the officers were quite astonished. A "cab driver" in Vienna's city center was found guilty of four different criminal offenses.

The officers first wanted to see the 61-year-old Austrian's driver's license, but it had already been taken from him beforehand. What's more, he apparently had no authorization to drive a cab at all.

A further test by the Vienna police is also said to have revealed that the "cab driver" was under the influence of drugs and was heavily overtired. As a result, the 61-year-old's vehicle keys were confiscated and he was banned from continuing his journey.

The suspect faces charges relating to non-scheduled passenger transport and the passenger transport industry as well as road traffic regulations.
