"Crown" heart person

She accompanies heart moms on their difficult journey

Christine Wuksch proves her big heart every day: she is there for families of children with heart disease in their most difficult hours - which is why she is being honored as a "Krone" heart person this year.

"Only a heart mom can understand another heart mom. That was the hardest year of my life," says Christine Wuksch, explaining why she became involved with the Herzkinder association after the birth of her son. Christine looks after mothers and families of children who were born with a heart defect and organizes accommodation in Linz, where many operations take place.

"She is the strongest of all the lionesses," says Susanne Hermetter, explaining why she nominated her friend as a person of the heart. Because her son is also a "heart child": "That's how we got to know each other," says Hermetter. Christine also visits schools with her heart teddy bear to introduce the topic to children and act as a "mouthpiece": "There's nothing better than when children put their trust in you!"

The dedicated heart mom has been nominated several times as a person of the heart and has also been honored by the "Krone": "She gives us all hope that this difficult time will eventually pass," says Susanne.
