During checks in the border area with Hungary, the Styrian police seized several weapons in a car. 

Police officers from the riot unit checked a Hungarian car driver on Friday evening during a priority check near the Hungarian border. Two long guns and two handguns (both category B), a blank-firing pistol, ammunition and other accessories were seized in the trunk. It turned out that the 48-year-old was in unlawful possession of one of the long guns. 

The Hungarian stated that he was on his way to a shooting range in Hungary. He had hoped not to be checked. A provisional weapons ban was issued against him.
