The ride ended in hospital for an 84-year-old female e-biker on Friday at around 1 p.m. in Gaißau. The senior citizen crashed at Rheinstaße 96 after trying to avoid two oncoming cyclists.

The bend also prevented a duo cycling side by side from riding behind each other to give oncoming cyclists the space they needed. This was the undoing of an elderly lady who was on the road at the same time.

Her braking and evasive maneuver failed miserably. Although she did not hit either of the two cyclists, she fell to the ground so badly that she sustained a minor injury to her shoulder. She was taken to Bregenz Regional Hospital by ambulance.

The two men were apparently unconcerned. They left the scene of the accident. The police are asking witnesses who can provide information about the cyclists involved or the course of the accident to contact Höchst police station.
