Golf course completely flooded after dam burst

The Diamond Country Club in Atzenbrugg, which is one of the top courses in Austria and has already hosted several European Tour tournaments, is currently a lake after a dam burst. GC Schloss Schönborn in Göllersdorf has also been affected by the natural disaster.

After the Perschling dam burst, the water also flooded the Diamond Country Club in Atzenbrugg. The pretty golf course, the venue for several European Tour tournaments, is a lake. Host Christian Guzy says: "We gave it our all. We were prepared for the rain, but we were powerless against the water coming from the side."

"No idea what will happen next"
Guzy also reports: "The water in our boat house is 20 centimetres high. The cellars are full. Only our hotel didn't get anything." The president of the Diamond Country Club emphasizes: "We have no idea what will happen next and how long the water will stay. But there are even more tragic stories in our area. It's brutal."

GC Schloss Schönborn in Göllersdorf has also been affected by the natural disaster. On Sunday morning, the Göllersbach burst its banks at hole 12 and within minutes flooded the entire area around the castle as well as the interior of the castle itself. The golf course was not spared from the effects either. Large lakes formed between the holes and the soaked ground caused some trees to topple.
