Stolen car turned up 30 kilometers away

Stolen in Innsbruck, turned up about 30 kilometers away in Navis: The theft of a car with Italian license plates is keeping the Tyrolean police busy. So far there is no trace of the perpetrator.

Sometime between last Sunday and Friday, the somewhat older car, which was registered in Italy, was stolen in Innsbruck. "The vehicle was parked in a public parking lot in Valiergasse in the east of the city at the time of the crime," according to the police.

Car could be located
After the car, worth several thousand euros, was reported stolen, it was located relatively quickly. "With the support of a tracking system from the Italian insurance company, the vehicle was located in Navis and recovered by officers from the Steinach-Wipptal police station," the investigators continued.

It is still unclear exactly when the car was stolen. The police are also still in the dark about the perpetrator. Investigations are underway.
