Special award for Cristiano Ronaldo

Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will be honored with a special award for his Champions League records. The Portuguese, the record scorer in the top flight with 140 goals in 183 games, is to receive the award from UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin on Thursday evening on the sidelines of the draw for the new Champions League phase in Monaco.

Ronaldo, who now plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, leads the all-time Champions League scoring charts with 140 goals, ahead of Lionel Messi (129) and Robert Lewandowski (94).

Five-time CL winner
The 39-year-old has won the trophy for the top scorer in the top flight seven times, making him the record holder. At the same time, CR7 was the first player to win the Champions League five times - once with Manchester United and four times with Real Madrid.
