Girl found lifeless in pool: resuscitated by grandparents

A family in the Carinthian district of Völkermarkt experienced terrible hours: the one-and-a-half-year-old child was found floating lifeless in the pool. The grandparents resuscitated him.

At around 12 noon on Sunday, a 29-year-old woman from the district of Völkermarkt found her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter lifeless underwater in her own pool. The child is said to have been under water for about half a minute. The grandparents resuscitated her immediately.

The rescue service treated the girl and the C11 rescue helicopter team flew her to Klagenfurt Hospital.

The exact circumstances of the swimming accident are still being investigated by the St. Kanzian police.
