65-year-old died during a hike on the Koralm

Two friends from the district of Wolfsberg (Carinthia) went on a hike in the Koralm area at lunchtime on Saturday. Suddenly, one of them fell over.

The 65-year-old hiker was on the Koralm at around 14:30. "In the Burgstallofenbahn area, the man suffered a cardiovascular arrest," the police report. "His companion, a 57-year-old from Wolfsberg, immediately began resuscitation and set the rescue chain in motion."

The ÖAMTC rescue helicopter Christophorus 11 flew to the scene of the accident - the crew initiated emergency medical treatment. Unfortunately, the rescuers were unable to do anything. "Despite the measures taken, the man died at the scene," said the police.
