Marco Reus: Move to the USA is said to be fixed

Former DFB international Marco Reus' move to Major League Soccer (MLS) with Los Angeles Galaxy is official! As the club announced, the 35-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract until the end of the 2026 season.

After his contract with Borussia Dortmund expires, Reus will move to the USA on a free transfer. The attacking player will be officially unveiled this Thursday evening (CEST). Soccer stars David Beckham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were also once under contract in Los Angeles. Other stars had already moved to the US league for the late fall of their careers, including Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez from Inter Miami and Olivier Giroud from Los Angeles FC.

"Desire for a new adventure"
"All we can say is: Good luck in California, Marco!", BVB wrote on its website. BVB had not offered Reus a new contract after twelve years. However, the Dortmund native said that he was once again "in the mood for a new adventure".

Reus played a key role in helping Borussia Dortmund win the DFB Cup in 2017 and 2021. The attacker played 48 games for the German national team, scoring 15 goals. L.A. Galaxy are currently in first place in the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. "He is a proven winner and leader whose talent and vision for the game will fit seamlessly into the group as we prepare to restart the league and make a run to the playoffs," said coach Greg Vanney.
