Previously, the witness is said to have noticed several people in a courtyard in Troststraße. One man is said to have pulled out a knife and threatened another person with it.

The police were quickly able to find the suspect in the immediate vicinity and confront him about the incident. "During a personal search, a kitchen knife was found in the 23-year-old suspect's waistband and seized. He was provisionally arrested," reports police spokesman Mattias Schuster. 

Suspect was intoxicated
According to the police, the Austrian is said to have stated that he only had the kitchen knife with him for cooking. The man was also found to be 1.4 per mille under the influence of alcohol. He is now in police custody. A search has yet to be conducted for the victim, who fled the scene after the incident.
