Zell am See fire department extinguishes fire in Grand Hotel

There were two fires at the Grand Hotel in Zell am See within a few days. After a sauna fire the previous week, the local fire department had to respond to an open attic fire on Monday. 

The fire broke out at around 6 p.m. on Monday in an attic apartment in the building next to the Grand Hotel, where the casino and the hotel's own brewery are also located. According to the fire department, furnishings caught fire for reasons as yet unexplained.

Due to the size of the building, the Bruck and Maishofen fire departments were also called to the scene. The interior of the apartment was very smoky, which is why heavy breathing protection was required during the operation.

The furnishings that had caught fire and the fire debris were removed via the roof terrace using a turntable ladder. The fire departments were deployed with 42 people.
