Van involved in an accident on the A4: seven children affected

A traffic accident on the A4 in the Göttlesbrunn-Arbesthal area in the district of Bruck an der Leitha (Lower Austria) caused several injuries on Friday afternoon. According to initial information, six children were affected. 

According to initial information, a van crashed on the eastbound highway in the direction of Nickelsdorf at around 5 pm. Two adults and seven children were affected, according to Philipp Gutlederer from Notruf NÖ. A large contingent of helpers was deployed. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.

Kilometer-long traffic jam
According to Gutlederer, three emergency helicopters and several rescue vehicles were requested. The patients received initial treatment at the scene and were transported to hospitals in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland. There were several kilometers of traffic jams on the eastern freeway.
