Sauna fire in hotel in Zell/See quickly extinguished

Yesterday, Wednesday, the fire department was called out to a hotel in Zell am See. Hotel guests had probably hung clothes in their room to dry over the sauna heater.

At around 6.20 pm, the volunteer fire department was called out in Zell am See. A sauna in the Grand Hotel had caught fire. When the firefighters arrived, they discovered that hotel guests had hung clothes to dry in the sauna while it was still warm. This had caught fire.

The guests had extinguished the fire themselves, but the volunteer fire department had to ventilate the room mechanically due to the heavy smoke. After around 45 minutes, the operation was over for the volunteer fire department.
