Too far into the middle of the road: Car collision

There was a collision between two cars - one of which was a fire department vehicle - on the B178 in the Tyrolean municipality of Ellmau on Saturday. Although both drivers tried to take evasive action, they were unsuccessful. Five injured.

Five people were injured - a driver (61) of a fire engine, the second driver (48) and her husband (45) and children (11, 16) - as a result of a traffic accident in the Tyrolean municipality of Ellmau on the B178 Loferer Straße at around 14.40 on Saturday. According to the police, the 61-year-old man crossed the middle of the road.

Injuries and sheet metal damage
When the oncoming 48-year-old noticed this, they both tried to swerve out of the way. Nevertheless, the vehicles collided sideways. All occupants of the vehicles were injured. The alcohol test was negative. There was considerable material damage to the vehicles and the road was only passable with difficulty for around 2.5 hours.
