Drunk driver (60) fled from the police in Tyrol

Officers from the Imst highway police were probably wide-eyed on Sunday evening when they tried to stop a speeding driver on the Inntal highway in Haiming. The driver (60) was driving at over 100 km/h through an 80 km/h restriction and disregarded the signs from the police. When they stopped the speeding driver, they must have been quite astonished.

The 60-year-old had been flashed at 104 instead of the permitted 80 km/h in a roadworks area in Haiming on the Inntalautobahn at around 8 pm. Officers from the Imst highway police wanted to stop the man. However, he disregarded the stop signs and drove on.

Caught after pursuit, high blood alcohol level
The police officers took up the pursuit and were finally able to stop the driver in Stams on Tiroler Straße. During the check, they discovered that the 60-year-old did not have a driver's license. To make matters worse, a breathalyzer test was also positive: the result was a whopping 1.8 per mille. The man will be reported to the police.
