13-year-old attacked: Several girls reported

A 13-year-old girl was apparently attacked and injured by several other girls in Vienna-Donaustadt a week ago. The police confirmed that there had probably been threats against the schoolgirl beforehand. An investigation is now underway into suspected assault and dangerous threats.

In the early hours of Monday afternoon last week, the victim was allegedly pushed, punched and kicked by at least three teenage girls - some of whose identities are known, according to the police - in the Breitenleer Straße area. "The girl complained of pain in her face and upper body," said police spokeswoman Barbara Gass.

Threats via cell phone
The 13-year-old, accompanied by her parents, then came to a police station to report the assault. A complaint was also filed in connection with a dangerous threat made by one of the suspects. The threat is said to have been made a few days earlier via cell phone.

Family considers changing schools
According to media reports, the attackers had been waiting for the 13-year-old hidden behind cars and then attacked her with a beating. Fearing the thugs, the family is considering changing the victim's school, according to reports.
