It's just so bizarre: Harry Potter and his wizard friends could live in the "Russenvilla" in Traunkirchen. The romantic "lost place", which offers many photo opportunities, can be visited as part of the "Villa Karbach" exhibition. And in the town square, Hegel is now tipping into the lake.

Nothing is as it is, said Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. A sculpture by the Spaniard Fernando Sanchez Castillo now shows the philosopher tilting towards Lake Traunsee.

Is he in a state of suspension, is he falling or lying down? That remains open according to Hegel's theory. The three-part "Villa Karbach" exhibition is now complete with the figure on the town square in Traunkirchen.

Wild and romantic "lost place"
The main venue is the "Russenvilla", in which 100 unconventional works of art by 16 artists pay homage to "scurrealism". The term was coined by Ebensee author Walter Pilar and describes the interface between surrealism and everyday life, as we have already reported.

By boat to an abandoned quarry
Another venue is the Karbach quarry on the other shore of Lake Traunsee, where visitors can experience an alchemical laboratory or singing stones. The crossing takes place by boat.

Paolo Bianchi and Martin Sturm, both long-standing curators of the successful "Höhenrausch" project in Linz, organized the "Villa Karbach" exhibition project, which is well worth seeing.
