Young worker fell three storeys to the ground

The life of an 18-year-old worker who fell three storeys in an accident on a building site in the Kaplanhof district of Linz on Tuesday is in acute danger.

According to police investigations, the young man had been standing on a ladder when it tipped over and he lost his footing. The emergency doctor took the seriously injured man to hospital. The labor inspectorate must clarify whether the prescribed protective measures were neglected and therefore the fatal fall could have happened.

This is also in action in Kirchdorf an der Krems, where, as reported, a 54-year-old fitter from Kollerschlag died on Monday. He had been standing on protective scaffolding that was to be lifted onto a building shell by crane. The man from Mühlviertel lost his footing and fell nine meters. There was no help for him and the man died at the scene of the accident.
