Winter closure ends

Staller Sattel is open again from Friday

After more than six months of winter closure, the Staller Sattel between East and South Tyrol can be reopened to traffic on Friday afternoon. The crossing is possible once an hour in each direction. 

The Staller Sattel between the East Tyrolean Defereggen Valley and the South Tyrolean Antholz Valley has been closed since November 6th. This winter closure is now history with the start of the Whitsun weekend: In agreement with the Stegen road maintenance depot near Bruneck, it will be lifted at 3 p.m. on May 17. 

The crossing from Austria to Italy will then be possible for 15 minutes every hour on the hour. In the opposite direction, the crossing is permitted for 15 minutes every half hour.
