Rider (77) falls from horse, is unconscious

A 77-year-old man fell off his horse during a ride in Kitzbühel on Friday. He hit his head on the gravel path and fell unconscious. The injured man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Dramatic accident in Kitzbühel: A 77-year-old fell off his horse at around 6.15 pm on Friday while out riding. The cause is still completely unclear. He hit his head on the gravel path there and remained unconscious.

Rescue helicopter deployed
A fellow rider following behind found the unconscious local and set the rescue chain in motion. According to the police, the injured man was not wearing a helmet. The 77-year-old was flown by rescue helicopter to hospital in Salzburg with head injuries.
