Paragliding accident: 27-year-old seriously injured
A 27-year-old man was seriously injured in a paragliding accident in Oetz (Tyrol). Shortly before landing, an abrupt descent occurred, which meant that the pilot was unable to land at the planned landing site and had to make an emergency landing.
At around 2.50 pm on Friday, the 27-year-old took off with his paraglider from the launch ramp in the Hochoetz ski area. The flight went almost without a hitch, but shortly before landing at 3.30 pm, an incident occurred.
Stuck on a garden fence
According to the police, the paraglider suddenly descended abruptly. As a result, the local was unable to fly to the planned landing site and had to make an emergency landing in the village of Oetz. During the process, the 27-year-old hit his left leg against a garden fence and suffered serious injuries to his left knee.
He was first treated by the residents of the house and then taken to hospital in Zams by ambulance.
