US actress Kristen Stewart and her colleague Oscar Isaac are starring in a horror film together. For Stewart, who became an absolute superstar with "Twilight", it is a return to the vampire genre, even if it is no longer intended for teenagers.

In the planned vampire thriller "Flesh of the Gods", they are to play a married couple who venture into the 80s nightclub scene in Los Angeles and end up in an underworld of glamor, pleasure and violence, as the producers announced on Thursday (local time) according to industry publications "Hollywood Reporter" and "Variety".

A joyride into hell
The film is directed by Canadian Panos Cosmatos, who previously brought Nicolas Cage in front of the camera for the horror film "Mandy" (2018). "Flesh of the Gods" will take viewers on a joyride "into the glittering heart of hell", Cosmatos said in a statement.

Script by Kevin Walker
According to agency reports, filming is set to begin this year. The script is by Andrew Kevin Walker, who wrote the screenplays for brutal thrillers such as "Seven" (1995) and "The Killer" (2023).

Stewart presented the thriller "Love Lies Bleeding" at the Berlinale in February - a production about two women who meet in a gym and whose love affair spirals out of control. Isaac most recently starred in the Marvel series "Moon Knight".
