The vote of no confidence against the mayor of Kirchdorf an der Krems was won by 17 votes to seven against the incumbent mayor Vera Pramberger. Resignation is not an option for the politician, and a referendum will now be held in June to decide whether she will remain as head of the town.

All those who tabled the vote of no confidence in the Kirchdorf mayor voted against her - the result was 17 to 7, with only the SPÖ parliamentary group voting against. The official reason for the no-confidence motion was the accusation that local leader Vera Pramberger was not taking responsibility and was passing on political tasks to others. 

Pramberger, on the other hand, said: "The people elected me, so the people should also decide whether I stay on." For her, the vote of no confidence was made for subjective reasons. "To table a motion of no confidence just because you don't like someone subjectively is highly unprofessional for me," says Pramberger. A referendum will now take place in June.
