19 percent increase ensures good mood
In a recent economic survey by the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce, the advertising and communication sectors show better figures than last time.
The Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce regularly conducts economic surveys to obtain a current picture of the mood among companies. In the first quarter of 2024, this survey was quite positive - in the advertising and market communication specialist group (information and consulting division). According to the Chamber of Commerce, creative companies can be proud of a 13% increase in turnover. In the last survey, the sector had to accept a slump of -6%.

Order and turnover expectations for the first half of 2024 remained constant compared to the last survey. "This positive trend is hugely important for the economy as a whole. After all, our creative professionals make a direct and clearly measurable contribution to the country's economic success. The positive mood is also good for creativity per se. In other words, it's a win-win situation for the whole country," says Martin Dechant, chairman of the trade group, with optimism.
The industry also formulated clear wishes for politicians. These are - not too surprisingly - less bureaucracy, lower non-wage labor costs and tax relief. "The creative industries are set up, now the framework conditions urgently need to follow suit," explained Dechant.
