Search for alcohol
Thief struck twice within two hours
The officers were amazed: a homeless man was questioned for shoplifting on Wednesday afternoon and then let go. Less than an hour later, the officers were again alerted to a supermarket - the fugitive offender turned out to be the same as before.
On Wednesday at 4.40 pm, Vöcklabruck police officers were alerted to a grocery store. A store detective had caught a 39-year-old homeless man trying to steal a can of beer and other alcoholic drinks. After questioning the 39-year-old, they let him go his way.
Only a little later
But they would soon cross paths with the police again: At 6.20 p.m., a report of robbery was received from another supermarket branch. The perpetrator initially fled with two stolen beer cans, but it soon turned out to be the same homeless man as before.
Arrest this time
This time, however, the officers got serious: during a manhunt, the repeat offender was caught by the police. He was arrested and taken to Wels prison.
