For the second time in two weeks, a bomb from the Second World War has to be defused near the Mewa Arena in Mainz. According to the German newspaper "Bild", a 500-kilogram American unexploded bomb was uncovered during construction work on Wednesday.

4600 people are to be evacuated near the stadium before the bomb is defused on Friday.

The Bundesliga clash between Mainz 05 and 1. FC Köln on Sunday is to take place as planned and the training ground of the 15th-placed team in the German Bundesliga is not in the danger zone, according to reports.
